EU Commission: €210 million available under Digital Europe programme. Calls are open

The European Commission is making over €210 million available under the Digital Europe Programme and has launched several calls for proposals to strengthen the EU’s cybersecurity and digital capacities. The resource package is divided into two areas. The first area will be dedicated to projects protecting large industrial installations and critical infrastructures (€35 million); enlarging national and cross border Cybersecurity Operation Centres (€12.8 million); developing state-of-the-art cybersecurity technologies and tools (€35 million); and supporting Member States in implementing EU laws on cybersecurity and national cybersecurity strategies (€20 million). The application deadline for projects in all of these sectors is 21 January 2025. The second project area focuses on digital skills: designing and delivering higher degree education programmes; helping Member States reach the Digital Decade targets; and facilitating the roll out of multinational projects for a European digital infrastructure and for local and regional development (including actions to combat disinformation). The application deadline for this second strand of projects is 21 November 2024. “Further calls will be published next year”, a statement from the Commission reads, “after the adoption of the Digital Europe 2025 – 2027 Work Programme”. Here is more information about the calls.
