EU: Erasmus For Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) programme. 12 thousand educational exchanges. “Boosting innovation”

The European Commission is celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Erasmus For Young Entrepreneurs programme (EYE) programme, “a unique initiative to forge the future of entrepreneurship across Europe”. According to the European Commission, this step shows “EYE’s success in encouraging international cooperation, enriching entrepreneurial skills and boosting innovation”. Similarly to what Erasmus+ does in the area of education, training, youth and sports, the EYE programme “provides new, potential entrepreneurs with a unique opportunity to benefit from international exchanges to translate innovative ideas into reality. It helps overcome obstacles to opening and running a business, while easing international growth and the development of business partnerships. Participants gain valuable on-the-job training and develop their entrepreneurial skills through mutually beneficial cooperation with a host entrepreneur abroad, for one to six months”. The EU provides financial support to cover travel and accommodation expenses. “So far, the programme has created nearly 12,000 exchanges more in 45 countries. In the year 2023, the programme received a record-breaking number of 5,000 applications”.
