There is time until 24 January to take part in the consultation that the European Commission has launched today on “the developments relating to the rule of law at both EU and national level”. The consultation is open to judicial associations, civil society, NGOs, international organisations, EU agencies and other stakeholders, and the material collected will help the Commission to assess the developments in the Member States’ rule of law, in order to prepare the Rule of Law Report 2025. As in previous editions, the annual monitoring “aims to address potential problems in a proactive manner and foster dialogue on rule of law issues, both at European and national level”, the Commission said in a statement. “The annual consultations have provided valuable information, both horizontal and country-specific”, the statement goes on to read. Contributions should focus on significant developments since the last Rule of Law Report both as regards the legal framework and its implementation in practice.
