31 are the nuns of the diocese of the Transfiguration that, from today to 2nd February, are gathered at the Bethlehem pastoral centre in the village of Mochishche (Novosibirsk) for the yearly meeting of the members of sisterhoods and Congregations for Institutes of Consecrated life, working in the parishes of the Urals and Western Siberia. It has been announced by the Catholic paper of Siberia. The meeting will be coordinated by the Pallottine sister Irina Chicherova. The theme of the meeting is “from burnout to fervour”. These will be days of “rest and spiritual solace”, with moments for exchanges and insights. The guest of the meeting is a Claretian priest from St Petersburg, father Mariano Sedano. The meeting was opened today by a moment of mutual exchange and introduction for the religious orders working in the region and the new nuns. In the next few days, the programme will include a trip to the “Siberian Carmel”, during which, it has been reported, “the nuns involved in ‘Martha’s Ministry’ in the Church will pray with the fellow nuns who live in retreat”. The meeting will end on 2nd February, the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord and the World Day for Consecrated Life, when the nuns solemnly renew their vows at Holy Mass.
