“No word will do justice to the killed children, to their mothers, to their fathers and to their beloved ones”. This has been stated by Geert Cappelaere, regional director of Unicef for the Middle East and North Africa, in a release issued after the news of mass killings of children, east of Ghouta and Damascus. About 250 civilians, including 57 children or teenagers, are said to have been killed since Sunday. According to Unicef, there are no words left to describe the children’s sufferings and our anger. Do those who are inflicting these sufferings have words left to justify their barbaric actions?
