Comece: Father Poquillon (Dominican), new secretary general. Long international experience

Padre Olivier Poquillon, segretario generale Comece

(Brusserls) – The new secretary general of Comece, father Olivier Poquillon, starts working today as the replacement of father Patrick Daly. Born in 1966 in Maison-Laffitte, after legal studies (international public law), Poquillon entered a Dominican convent in 1994; he studied theology and was ordained in 2001. He gained a lot of European and international experience at the Mission of the Holy See to the Council of Europe, in Strasbourg, then he taught at the university of Mosul, in Iraq. In addition, he has been military chaplain in the Balkans, in Africa and in the Middle East. He chaired the Justice and Peace commission of the religious order he belongs to. From 2008 to 2013, he was a delegate of the Dominican Order to the United Nations in Geneva. His last post before his appointment in Brussels in spring was as prior of the Dominican Convent of Saint Pierre Martyr, in Strasbourg.
