Youth: Erasmus+, almost €5 billion for 2025 for the benefit of learning and cooperation

The EU’s Erasmus+ programme for learning exchanges and cooperation partnerships in the fields of education, training, youth and sport will have around €5 billion available in 2025, that is to say, 6.5% more than last year. Applications for funding can be submitted from today until 19 February 2025. There are three main strands: Education and Training with €3,965.233 million available; Youth with €379.280 million; and Sport with €76.290 million. “Any public or private body active in the fields of education, training, youth and sport” may apply for funding, as stated in the call for proposals, as well as “groups of young people who are active in youth work, but not necessarily in the context of a youth organisation,” with a focus on inclusion. Since its launch in 1987, the EU programme has already supported more than 16 million people. Since the beginning of the Russian aggression, the programme has added to its commitments the funding of 500,000 Ukrainian-language schoolbooks in 2023 and 1 million art and computer science books in 2024. A third batch is planned for the 2025-2026 school year.
