The 100th anniversary of the re-founding of the diocese of Belgrade will fall in 2024, and multiple events will be held for the occasion. The celebrations will begin with the plenary session of the Council of Bishops’ Conferences of Europe (CCEE) that will take place in Belgrade from 24th to 27th June, while a Eucharistic celebration, which will also be attended by the Vatican Secretary of State, card. Pietro Parolin, has been planned for late September. Also in September, a concert will be given by the RTS Choir, while a scientific conference will be held in November. Mgr. Ladislav Nemet, archbishop of Belgrade, who presented the programme to the media, revealed that “the purpose is to have this Jubilee and its meaning talked about as much as possible”. Mgr. Nemet added that a special stamp, banners and other advertising materials will be issued for the occasion. A pilgrimage to Rome has been planned from 2nd to 9th September. The 100th anniversary of the magazine “Blagovest” will fall in 2024 as well.
